Workshop Description

This one-day workshop will further develop your skills in writing objective case notes so that they meet the professional standards required by the organisation. Throughout the workshop you will have the opportunity to analyse relevant documents and apply the skills learned.

Workshop Outcomes

This workshop will assist participants to:

  • Understand the legal implications of case notes
  • Identify the range of possible readers of these documents
  • Select content that is relevant to the purpose and readers
  • Write notes that are objective and evidence-based rather than subjective and emotional
  • Distinguish between facts and opinions
  • Use template appropriately (where available) so that information is where the reader expects to find it
  • Use a clear, concise writing style
  • Adopt a professional tone
  • Apply a simple checklist for proofreading notes

Workshop Delivery

The program will be customised by utilising modified examples of case notes, real scenarios and focusing on particular needs identified in pre-training discussions with key staff. The program is an informative, interactive one in which you will have the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills learned.
